Made by our mates Humphrey Law, in Melbourne, the 61C Merino Wool Hiking Sock is an oh-so-comfortable choice for hiking in Australia and New Zealand conditions.
A full-length but not-too-heavy hiking sock, the 61C has a breathable wool cushion sole and the adjacent CoolMax®draws perspiration away from the skin to keep feet dry. The outer shell of this merino blend sock is a hard-wearing nylon, so these things will just keep on keeping on.
Why do we stock these Australian made merino hiking socks? Because we've been wearing the 61Cs as our go-to 'boot sock' for a couple of years now and they tick all our boxes in terms of comfort, durability, and ethics. Now available to Ottie Merino customers.
Made from 51% Merino Wool, 33.5% Nylon, 14% CoolMax®, 1% Lycra, 0.5% Polyester.

Nice to wear
Very comfortable to wear
Wore them on a Tassie trip on some hard terrain, great cushioning!!
I've had a few woollen Ts before. So with a point if comparison I'd say the Ottie Ts are better made, using better wool than pretty much anything made offshore these days. (I also have old icebreakers from the mid-late 90s which were really well-made, but that's when they were made in NZ). They're long, work well in summer (just done the uk summer, landing on their 40 degree day), as well as cooler. All the benefits of a wollen T, but made really well. Sizing I'm still experimenting with - I think they run a bit large, but I wear Ts tight. Some would say too tight. They're a long-ish cut too. I wear them for everyday, but exclusively when I travel
My only problem is the last one the grey thermal developed a little hole on its first wearing and I can’t quite work out why
Happy with them. Comfy. Lasting welll.
I’m super fussy about the socks I hike in. These have passed the test. They are soft, comfortable, have plenty of cushioning around my feet, and fit really well.
Hi
There great
I have purchased many brands of merino wool hiking socks over the years and have found the Humphrey Law socks to be an excellent product. They fit well, wash well and are very warm,
