I love the bright colour, the fit, the comfort, the quality. I like that it’s long. And it is not the slightest bit scratchy.
This is my second Ottie T-shirt (the first is still going strong). Fits great, and really like the extra length. Pretty much the only T-shirts I wear on the weekend, very comfortable.
Paid a fortune for it but was really disappointed when it arrived
Thin flimsy fabric will never keep me warm
So thin and waste of money
Not worth the money
Thanks for your review. Pity we only earned 1 star, and what you have to say comes as quite a surprise.
Our lightweight tees (as opposed to our thermals) aren't really designed for insulation. In fact, they're super popular even in the warmest of conditions. It's a misconception that wool is only for cool conditions. That said, you're better off being in merino than cotton if you're wet or sweaty and get caught in a cold breeze. They work best as part of a laying system.
If you're after something warmer, I'd recommend going our 200gsm thermals. These are designed to be worn close to the skin and are heavier (but without being heavy and bulky) and genuinely act as an insulative layer as opposed to our light, relaxed fit tees.
Sorry to hear you feel as though you have wasted money. We make a quality product with hundreds of happy customers. We know our product isn't a waste of money and will continue to do what we do.
Between my partner and I, there must be about 10 Otties in our wardrobe by now, in all sorts of colours and sizes, and they never dissappoint. Solid product, I will be back for more.
breathes and fits well
Great fit and colour which is shaping up as another winner from Ottie. Looking forward/hoping to Ottie coming out with a more winter oriented heavier weight Tee in both long and short sleeve versions.
I think for the price I expected a merino wool T shirt to be a bit thicker. Compared to a cotton T shirt it was thin on material.
Thanks for your review, Stephen. In our lightweight tees, we use a 165gsm superfine merino. This weight is a great balance between durability and warm and cool weather performance. We also now have our 200gsm merino thermals which are designed to be more insulative.
When buying merino, do look at the gsm (grams per square metre) to determine the weight of the tee you're buying. Lighter gsm will mean a lighter, airier tee, but less durability. Heavier will mean more insulative and the added bonus of greater durability, but this isn't ideal for wearing in warmer conditions.
Price doesn't determine the weight of the fabric. What you're paying for with us is a top quality Australian (and ethically) made product. Hope that helps and hope you still enjoy the tee.
Just bought my second ottie tee - I wear my first all the time, for everyday stuff as well as hiking and paddling. Great for travelling, love that I can get away with not washing it for a few days!
Very happy. Good length, very comfortable quality material ,no compromise has been made in choice of micron for the yarn Top . Also not trying to compromise with a blend .
