AUSSIE MADE UNISEX MERINO THERMAL PANTS THAT HAVE POCKETS!
Our new Unisex Merino Thermal Bottoms are made from a stretchy Australian merino and elastane blend. Weighing in at 200gsm, these thermal leggings are ideal for most chilly conditions you're likely to be presented with in Australia and New Zealand.
Ethically made in Australia, our merino thermal bottoms incorporate a beautifully soft Ottie Merino-branded waistband, and a couple of external sewns pockets—so you don't get that annoying pocket bunch-up against your legs—because pants without pockets suck! At 200gsm, we're talkin' a great 'allrounder' thermal bottom.
Paired with a men's or women's merino thermal top, these merino thermals pants are a must for the well-prepared and cool weather hiker or skier.
- Australian merino and elastane blend—the best of ALL worlds in terms of performance, comfort, and durability (95% merino, 5% elastane)
- Pockets to keep them hands warm, or for handily stowing your phone, headlamp, or matches at camp or the hut
- Available in small to xx/large (see size chart)
- 100% mulesing-free
- Sweatshop-free!
- Made in Melbourne
- Australian Made certified
- All the benefits of merino wool—odour resistant, moisture wicking, temperature regulating, super soft, biodegradable, and comfortable AF!

Very comfortable and warm - good style for leggings. Liked the pockets!
The measurement guide made it much easier to pick the right size. And I will use for more than hiking
They arrived today! Slipped them on and they felt like high quality. Much thicker than my macpac thermals and they come with pockets. The cut was a little strange and different to my other branded pairs but I'm thinking they will shape to my body as they age. I will recommend these!
I am very happy with these thermal pants. Amazing quality and very comfortable. Arrived quickly too.
Quality product … great customer service
Perfect. Just remember when you carefully measure your undies as instructed, that Ottie is looking for a waist measurement. When my longs arrived they were bigger than expected but the exchange process was smooth and quick and the replacement longs are spot on. Couldn't ask for better customer service.
This product is well made. I will be warm when hiking or travelling. The merino is so soft & light weight for backpack.
Sizing is accurate when taking on board the advice to go up one or two sizes. It's a strange cut: having a female body, I found there was too much excess fabric at the front which made for a bulky fit at the front. The seams were pretty scratchy and uncomfortable (this might just be due to having sensitive skin), but okay when I decided to try wearing the thermal bottoms inside-out. The length was perfect, although I could see how they might end up too short for others. Overall, the cut and sizing don't really work for the unisex aspect and I can see why the thermals are being clearanced.
Can't fault the customer service of Ottie Merino, and would definitely try out future thermals that had a better gender-specific cut.
The thermals are warm and comfortable- what more do you want in a thermal.
I’ve just used the thermal pants and long sleeve top as my camp clothes and sleepwear on the Heysen, brilliantly warm all night and love that the top is long!
Really great to support an Australian-made business. I particularly like the colour range, fit, and higher necklines that the women's tees offer.
